Hobart Airport International Airport is an airport located in Cambridge, app. 17 kilometres east of Hobart, Tasmania. The Federal government owned airport is currently being operated on a 99 year lease to the Tasmanian Gateway Consortium.


The airport has seen strong passenger growth in the last few years, primarily due to the increase in services from low-cost carriers Jetstar, Virgin Blue and Tiger Airways. In the financial year of 2008–09, the airport handled almost 2 million passengers and over 14,000 air movements, making it the 9th busiest in relation to passenger numbers in Australia and currently the second fastest growing airport in Australia. The island of Tasmania is a popular destination for tourism and tourists and Hobart Airport aims to make travel to and from Hobart as easy as possible.
